Successful collaboration with Siemens Industry

SIMOVE Safe Velocity in practical use

Together with Siemens Industry, BÄR Automation GmbH has successfully completed the pilot project for the SIMOVE Safe Velocity safety software.

Since the project started last summer, the software-based safety concept has been tested under real production conditions. The omnidirectional vehicle ConTrax® Module One was used to validate safe speed monitoring in dynamic industrial environments in a practical setting. The aim of the project was to test a hardware-reduced, scalable safety concept for mobile robots.

After a year of pilot operation, the results are clear: SIMOVE Safe Velocity meets the operational requirements in highly dynamic manufacturing environments. The software-based approach eliminates the need for additional safety hardware, reducing both space requirements and system complexity. At the same time, the solution can be flexibly transferred to other vehicle platforms, including systems with differential drive.

The close and open exchange between BÄR Automation and Siemens Industry proved to be of great added value for both sides. The practical experience gained in the project was directly incorporated into the further development and optimisation of SIMOVE Safe Velocity.

Further details on the project, the technology and the partnership are summarised in the official Siemens reference.
